A Japanese robotics manufacturer has opened its newly expanded European warehouse in Echternach, Luxembourg.
Fanuc, which has been present in the industrial zone for the last 28 years, uses the hub to supply customers in 14 EU countries with spare parts and industrial robots. And the long-term clients appear to be happy with the treatment received so far by Luxembourg.
"No European government cares more about their business as the Luxembourg government," said Fanuc President Olaf Gehrels.
Fanuc was founded in Japan 1956 where it made a name for itself as a manufacturer of industrial robots, machine tools, wire EDM, injection moulding machines, milling machines and CNC-controlled robots. The Japanese company is mainly active in the field of robotics and CNC controls among other things.
With an estimated worth of 650 million euros, the company employs 850 people around the world. The company invested 2.2 million euros in the new warehouse, which has allowed for the introduction of new technology to track the flow of goods and reduce delivery times.
The extension more than doubles the floor space at the site, providing 1,700 square metres in addition to the 1,300 new parking spaces to serve the industrial zone.
