Luxembourg’s Nicola McEvoy has won the 2012 International Rose of Tralee, marking the first victory for the Grand Duchy in the history of the Irish contest.

The European School teacher was crowned International Rose in Tralee late on Tuesday night at the end of a nail-biting two-day televised presentation of contenders.
