We’re very pleased to announce our InterNations
Luxembourg September Get-Together @ Marx Bar.
We will be meeting on Thursday, September 8th from 6:30pm
onwards at the first trendy style bar of the country: Marx Bar in
Hollerich (near the train station) , which will be exclusively reserved for
the Luxembourg InterNations Community and Guests. With the summer coming, we can also take advantage of Marx Bar’s fancy garden terrace with fresh air and sun.
Entrance will be free for Albatross members and 8 Euro for all others. As usual there will be a free Welcome-Drink for everybody (beer or soft drink or wine or juice). With the entrance you gain also the option to participate in the Speed Networking Event:
For those that are hungry and coming directly from work, there will be catering provided in the form of BBQ ! Depending on your preferences you can get chicken, pork and salads. There are three different menus to choose from (8/ 12/ 14 Euro).
As you will find on Wikipedia, Speed Networking is a method of meeting business contacts. Primarily, the practice involves multiple people that gather in a single space in order to exchange information. Participants greet each other in a series of brief exchanges during a set period of time. During an interaction, attendees share their professional backgrounds and business goals.
To this definition I must add that our Speed Networking is designed also to exchange private information with the target to extend the private network and to find people with similar background and Interests.
Wikipedia : Advantages: Speed networking has advantages over typical meet-and-greet events.
For attendees: It facilitates the meeting of individuals who may not have had the opportunity to exchange information without a structured environment. Each attendee is “guaranteed to meet more people than [he/she] typically would using traditional networking during the same amount of time.” It relieves participants of the stress of introductions as attendees all have a single purpose. It rids the awkward “out” with time limits – no need to find a way to bow out of a conversation gracefully – and therefore increases the number of potential new meets.
I will announce the start of the sessions by going around with the speed networking sign and Brian will explain the rules and lead you through the session. We expect the speed networking to begin at 7:30pm and at 8:45pm . It will take about 1 hour to participate.
As usual there will be two parts of the evening: the first more networking oriented with low lounge music and more light until 22:00 and a second more dancing oriented from 22:00 on with party music and atmospheric light effects.
In order to support the hard work of Mars Di Bartolomeo, smokers are welcome to go to the garden terrace in order to indulge their passion, inside Marx Bar there will be a strict non-smoking policy!
