The International School of Luxembourg is delighted to announce that the preparation and planning which has spanned the last two years has finally reached the stage of formal approval by the Ministry of Education, with the support of the Ministry of Finance, for the construction of a new primary school facility (known as ISL2) on the southwest corner of the Geesseknaeppchen Campus in Luxembourg-Merl.
In a letter to ISL Director Chris Bowman, dated 26 November, Minister of Education Mady Delvaux-Stehres gave her formal approval and the green light to proceed with the project.
“We are extremely grateful to the Luxembourg Government for its support in enabling us to realize our goal of providing a state of the art primary education facility, enabling us to implement a programme of the highest calibre that will incorporate the most up to date practices in teaching and learning,” affirmed ISL Director Chris Bowman.
ISL is partnering with project manager Paul Wurth and Luxembourg architectural firm ARCO for the design and construction of the new facility and looks forward to the ground-breaking, planned for April 2011. The new Lower School building is expected to open for the start of the 2013-2014 school year.
